Plantation Programmes :

Ichhe Puran’s plantation initiatives are designed not merely to plant trees, but to restore ecosystems, strengthen communities, support livelihoods, and create greener, more resilient environments. Under its Nurture the Nature approach, the organisation works across rural, urban, community, and coastal landscapes, with emphasis on native species, long-term care, monitoring, and ecological impact.

1. Agroforestry – Growing Livelihoods Alongside Trees

Ichhe Puran’s Rural Livelihood Agroforestry Model integrates tree plantation with sustainable farming. Grafted fruit-bearing species such as mango, guava, lemon, coconut, and jackfruit are provided to marginal farmers, helping improve soil health, biodiversity, and long-term household income. The programme also includes farmer guidance, geo-tagged monitoring, and follow-up support to encourage healthy plant growth and survival.

2. Urban / Miyawaki Forests – Creating Green Spaces in Cities

Through Miyawaki and dense urban plantation projects, Ichhe Puran transforms limited urban spaces into thriving green pockets using native species. These forests help improve air quality, reduce urban heat, enhance biodiversity, and create long-term green spaces within rapidly developing cities.

3. Community Plantation – Greenery Through Collective Action

Ichhe Puran conducts plantation drives across schools, government spaces, institutions, highways, housing communities, and rural common lands. These initiatives actively involve students, villagers, volunteers, and local communities, encouraging a sense of ownership towards the environment. The organisation also provides post-plantation monitoring to support tree survival and long-term growth.

4. Mangrove Restoration – Protecting Coastal Ecosystems

Ichhe Puran’s Mangrove Restoration Programme focuses on strengthening the fragile coastal ecosystem of the Sundarbans. By restoring mangrove cover, the initiative supports biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and natural protection against storm surges and cyclones. The programme combines environmental restoration with the protection of coastal communities and their livelihoods.
