EDUCATION FOR EVERY CHILD - KRITI PATHSALA
Education is a fundamental right, yet thousands of children from migrant and underprivileged families remain outside the formal education system because of poverty, migration, and difficult living conditions. Kriti Pathshala, launched by Ichhe Puran in 2024, was created to take learning directly to children who are otherwise unable to access a regular school.
Bringing Education to the Learners
Kriti Pathshala establishes informal learning centres close to brick-field communities and other marginalised settlements, particularly in South 24 Parganas. Many migrant families move seasonally for work, and their children often remain engaged in or around brick kilns, making regular schooling difficult.
Instead of waiting for these children to enter the formal system, Kriti Pathshala brings education into their own environment through accessible, community-based learning spaces.
A Holistic Approach to Learning
The programme goes beyond basic education. Each centre combines:
Foundational literacy and numeracy to build essential learning skills.
Life-skills education to develop confidence, awareness and independence.
Health and hygiene education to promote healthier everyday practices.
Nutrition support, recognising that adequate nutrition is essential for children to learn effectively.
Creative, cultural and recreational activities that encourage self-expression, social inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
Impact
Through its education, nutrition and inclusion programmes, Ichhe Puran has directly benefited 350+ children. Kriti Pathshala represents more than a classroom—it creates a safe space where children can learn, express themselves and experience the dignity and possibility that education brings.
Our vision is simple: no child should be excluded from learning because of where they live, where their parents work, or the circumstances they are born into.
